How to use the wheel
- Type your names or options in the box, one per line. You can paste a list straight from a spreadsheet, register or group chat.
- Press Spin the wheel (or tap the wheel itself).
- The arrow at the top shows the winner, and it's added to the results list.
- Tick Take the winner off the wheel if you don't want anyone picked twice, for example when choosing the order for presentations.
Is it really random?
Yes. The winner is picked using your browser's secure random number source the moment you press spin, and the wheel then animates to land on that name. Every name has exactly the same chance: with 8 names, each has a 1 in 8 (12.5%) chance. The animation, the order of the names and how fast you click make no difference to the result. Nothing is sent to us, so your lists stay private.
If you want one option to be more likely, type it in more than once. An option that appears twice on a wheel of 10 slices has a 2 in 10 chance.
Ideas for using a spinner wheel
- Classrooms: pick who answers next, choose groups, or decide the order of presentations without anyone feeling singled out.
- Prize draws and giveaways: put each entrant's name on the wheel and record the spin to show it was fair. For large draws with numbered tickets, the random number generator is quicker.
- Team sports: pick captains or split players into teams by spinning and removing each winner.
- Family decisions: what's for dinner, which film to watch, who washes up, or where to go at the weekend.
- Meetings: choose who speaks first at stand-up, or who takes notes this week.

| 30 | 1 in 30 (3.3%) |

Frequently asked questions
Is the spinner wheel fair?
Yes. Each spin picks a winner using a secure random number, so every name on the wheel has exactly the same chance of being chosen.
How do I remove a name after it's picked?
Tick 'Take the winner off the wheel after each spin'. The name is removed once the wheel stops. Use 'Put removed names back' to restore them.
How many names can I add?
As many as you like, though the names get harder to read on the wheel above about 40. The draw is still fair with any number.
Can I make one option more likely?
Yes. Add it more than once. Each line is its own slice, so an option listed twice has double the chance.
Are my names saved anywhere?
No. The wheel runs in your browser and nothing is sent to us. Use 'Copy link to this result' if you want to keep your list.
